Reflections on the Rockford Writers' Guild
Chapbooks
"Membership has its privileges" is an old cliche with a new twist for members of Rockford Writers' Guild.
The twist is called "Rockford Writers' Guild Press." That means members
may now publish inexpensve Chapbooks under the auspices of the Guild --
but with the same quality they've come to expect from Rockford Review.
Specifically, the Guild has worked out a special discount package with
the printer who has produced Rockford Review for 20 years.
That package is available to members on a first come - first serve
basis. In other words, Chapbooks will be published in the order that
the Guild receives them.
Guild members who are interested in publishing their Chapbooks may
request a quote sheet that will describe various options and related
production costs.
As a guideline, 100 Chapbooks of 40 pages in perfect bound format could
cost as little as $720. Prices go up or down from there depending on
clients' customized specifications.
To request a quote sheet, e-mail daveconnieross@aol.com. Based on the order of responses, Chapbook copy & art submitted with a deposit will be scheduled for publication.
Please be reminded that this Chapbook opportunity is limited to Guild
members who are in good standing with regard to their dues.
Sincerely,
--David Ross

"I never thought publishing would be so easy. In a few timely e-mails,
RWG Press explained exactly what I needed to do to get the bare bones
price for 100 copies offered in their brochure. I am so happy with the
results. Turnaround was quick and hot off the press I sold several
copies of Letters from the Queen and Other Gems, a chapbook filled with
my published letters to the editors of major NY newspapers, which
includes short essays on what prompted me to write."
--Melanie Coronetz

"I had the pleasure to use RWG Press chapbook service for my collection
of poetry The Devil's Advocate. I couldn't be happier with the final
product. The service was superior: the quality was more than I could
have expected, the turnaround much quicker than I could have hoped for,
and the cost was well within my budget. Thanks to RWG Press, my dream
of putting the collection together became a reality."

"Costs were as expected for my RWG Press chapbook Beginnings and
Endings. Proofreaders caught many errors, corrected them and returned
my copy for comparison. E-mail questions were answered within 24 hours.
Excellent service!"

"RWG Press turned my dramatization Apple Stars and Family Trees into
perfectbound play books quickly with no problems. The books are
attractive and just what I envisioned to feature my East Friesen
Women's Journeys to Midwestern Prairie."

"If you want to learn something about self-publishing, RWG chapbook is
a good way to go. Cost is not too high and turnaround time is the best
I've seen."
