RWG's 9th Annual
2012 IDES OF MARCH POETRY & PROSE CONTEST
THEME: STABBING PAIN
DEADLINE: March 15, 2012 (the Ides of March)
FEES: $5 per prose piece, $5 for 1-3 poems.
Multiple submissions accepted with appropriate fees.
Checks payable to Rockford Writers’ Guild. Fees must accompany entries. You will be notified when your submission and payment have arrived.
PRIZES: Cash amounts determined by entry fees collected
All fees returned to contest winners as cash prizes. Last year's prizes ranged from $10 (honorable mention)-$75 (first place). Winners will be considered for publication in the 2012 summer-fall edition of The Rockford Review and will be invited to the RWG annual Gala at Cliffbreakers in July 2012.
RULES: Original, unpublished hard copy or electronic submissions.
Poems up to 50 lines each.
Prose up to 1300 words each.
All submissions must incorporate, express and interpret this year's theme of STABBING PAIN.
Indicate adult or youth category (18 or under) and include a short 2-3 sentence bio. If you are a youth, please indicate your age.
Entries will not be returned. Include SASE or email address for results. Contestants will be notified by April 15, 2012 via SASE or email.
