Gala XXII - Summer 2013

The Rockford Writers' Guild Gala will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from Noon-3PM at Cliffbreakers in Rockford, Illinois.  

All of the RWG members are invited as well as all of the writers featured in Negative Space as well as all of The Ides of March Poetry & Prose Contest winners. This all-encompassing gala will feature, celebrate and unite the hundreds of writers from all over the world who have contributed to the RWG in the past year .

The new Members Only edition of The Rockford Review will be distributed at the Gala. There will be great food, champagne and filmmakers filming the entire event. The three short films that captured the essence of the past three galas will roll during the Gala.

There will be an Author's Row where any member can sell his or her work.

The Gala is a major fundraiser for RWG and it is also a great opportunity for networking. The Gala is a satisfying opportunity to meet the people you have been emailing or reading over the past year.

If you are a writer who is a 2013 Ides of March Winner, and/or a writer whose work was published in From Scratch, and/or a writer whose work is forthcoming in the 2013 Members Only edition of The Rockford Review, then you are invited to share a poem or prose excerpt with us at the open mic. You have up to 3 minutes to share your poetry or prose. This is a competition for cash prizes. If you go over 3 minutes, you will be disqualified. Cash prizes will be awarded by a panel of judges in performance and traditional styles of readings.
